Carnaval del Sol
Latincouver promotes relationships and cultural exchange among Latin Americans and the Canadian mosaic. Our programs allow you to gain access a central meeting place, hosting business, social and cultural events throughout the year.
Our program Carnaval del Sol is the biggest Latin festival in the Pacific Northwest, we have been doing this for the last 9 year. It recreates the atmosphere of a vibrant city plaza in Latin America. The arts showcased during this event include live musical bands (350 artist), Native Canadian and Latin American visual art, traditional folk dances from different countries, arts and crafts displays.
The shared objective of Carnaval del Sol and Latin American Week is to act as a much-needed bridge between Vancouver’s rapidly growing Latin American communities and other communities. Arts and culture are universal languages that unite people and allow cities to grow and thrive.
Our festival's artistic vision is to be Vancouver's premier multicultural event that contributes to diversity and community engagement through arts and culture. Our objective is to find an inclusive way to unify and integrate different communities through arts and culture. We want to educate our neighbourhoods and communities on the importance of Canadian and Latin roots.
Carnaval del Sol will take place on July 9th and 10th, 2016, from 9am to 10pm each day at Concord Pacific Place in downtown Vancouver, with a capacity for 100,000 people.
