Post COVID-19 Coping as a new immigrant Canada

In this workshop, Maria Fernanda Medrano will offer a trauma-informed, non-judgmental, anti-oppression, social just, and, strength-based approach that highlights capacity and resilience in individuals and community as a whole.
Originally from Mexico, Fernanda is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the experience of working in the field of trauma. Over the years, in her work, she has supported survivors of torture, refugees, immigrants, as well as at-risk pregnant women. Other areas of her interest include substance use, grief and loss, mental health concerns, violence against women, attachment, and experiences of oppression.
Fernanda is driven to create a safe, collaborative, culturally competent and inclusive therapeutic space to support individuals and families in their journey. She supports people from the standpoint of curiosity, acknowledging that individuals are the experts in their own lives.
Fernanda strives to give clients room to access their own wisdom and to continue to grow and evolve from their experiences.
