Indigenous Women Market

Since 2016, UN Women -with the support of Teck- has been implementing the Originarias program seeks to contribute to the empowerment, economic and social participation of Indigenous Women in Northern Chile, promoting their rights and making their voices heard. As part of this program, and in partnership with the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute, Inc., and the World Indigenous Business Network, a customized training in Facilitation on Indigenous Economic Development with Gender Focus was successfully delivered in Chile, November 2018. Today, and as a result of the program, a delegation of this entrepreneurs are attending the World Business Indigenous business Forum 2019 in Vancouver to present and promote their products.

As part of the Latin American Heritage Month, we want to honor the richness and vitality of the Latin American culture and our heritage. Don't miss the unique opportunity to meet with different and talented indigenous women entrepreneurs coming directly from Chile. Products like quinoa and honey, unique textile pieces and experiential tourism are some of the things you can find in this amazing market.
