Wearing the colors of the rainbow, the City of Buenos Aires offered a wide variety of activities for the occasion. Among them were regional LGBTIQ+ tournaments, the LGBTIQ+ entrepreneur fair, the Festival for Trans Labor Inclusion (FILTT), the LGBTIQ+ publishing house fair, the Conference for Companies Committed to Diversity and various artistic exhibitions. The full schedule is available here (in Spanish).

These events were organized by the General Directorate for Coexistence in Diversity, part of the Undersecretariat of Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism, and had the support of the city’s Ministry of Culture.

“Our city is a worldwide example when it comes to celebrating LGBTIQ+ pride, which has become a local emblem”, said Pamela Malewicz, Undersecretary of Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism.

Of course, the week culminated with the long-awaited Pride Parade on November 6th, which started at 11 a.m. at the renowned Plaza de Mayo and finished at the National Congress. It was a very special event because it signaled 30 years since the first Pride Parade in Argentina.

Last year, the celebration was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Natasha Steinberg, General Director of Coexistence in Diversity, said about this: “Going back into the streets together with so many artists, cultural groups and organizations with which we work daily is truly very exciting.”
