University Canada West (UCW) has come a long way in 17 years.
Founded in 2004 by Dr. David Strong, an accomplished academic and distinguished scientist who served as president of the University of Victoria for more than a decade, UCW is more than just a business school. It has positioned itself as an innovative business and technology-oriented, teaching-focused institution defined by its close connections to the business community and a commitment to outstanding student services.
UCW aims to foster a diverse and challenging learning environment focused on the practical application of knowledge and building competencies for leadership and responsible citizenship in a global context.
The University offers a series of applied undergraduate and graduate degrees for domestic and international students. In addition to its ACBSP and NCMA-accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Commerce programs, UCW also offers Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication and Associate of Arts degree programs, as well as two preparatory programs – MBA Foundation and University Access Program.
In addition to its degree and preparatory programs, UCW offers several micro-credentials that focus on technology and can help students gain valuable and specific skills in a short amount of time. The University’s internship program ensures students gain real-world business experience setting them up for success after graduation.
While the past year and a half have brought about unforeseen challenges, it also marked the beginning of a new era for UCW.
In October 2020, the University opened its beautiful new second campus in the iconic Vancouver House development, one of the highest-profile developments in the city’s recent history. UCW’s Vancouver House Campus is just steps away from Sunset Beach and the seawall, as well as restaurants and cafés, London Drugs and Fresh Street Market.
At 90,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art campus can accommodate more than 3,400 students and is home to UCW’s NExT GENERATION Hub, which brings innovation and the latest in technology to every aspect of the University. This includes establishing strategic partnerships with digital leaders such as Salesforce (Trailhead), Tableau, Riipen and IBM Design Thinking to add relevant digital components to UCW courses.
The University puts its students first in everything it does and offers several scholarships, grants and bursaries to make higher education more accessible to all.
The Americas Tuition grant is offered by special arrangement to support students from countries in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. This grant means that tuition fees for students from eligible countries are charged at current UCW domestic rates.
Visit UCW’s Awards & Scholarships page for the full list of eligible countries.
